Brian Barrentine (Captain Jam)
Lifelong performer and New York University Professor, Brian Barrentine broke new ground for early childhood education when he developed the Gymboree Music Program for international distribution in 1998. Barrentine then founded FunikiJam Music to create innovative music programs for young children and their families. Designed to explore world culture and target developmental skills, FunikiJam offers a sequential integrated kids music curriculum for infants, toddlers, preschool, pre-k, 1 & 2. Touring live shows educate and entertain audiences up to 5th grade. Teacher training and certification is offered through ongoing courses at FunikiJam and New York University.
Favorite roles: Captain Jam in FunikiJam World Tour, Elvis in Elvis the Musical European Tour, Narrator in Aladdin National Tour, Leading Player in Pippin, El Gallo in the Fantasicks, Lancelot in Camelot and Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music.
